PBA praises appointment of Tucker

By Sally Goldenberg

A police union often at odds with the de Blasio administration is supporting the selection of Benjamin Tucker as first deputy commissioner of the NYPD.

"We salute the appointment of Benjamin Tucker as first deputy commissioner. He grew up in Brooklyn and has long been part of the NYPD family," Patrolmen's Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said in an email on Wednesday.

Tucker, who worked for presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, currently oversees training at the NYPD.
