Two officers, Dennis Guerra and Rosa Rodriguez, both of the Housing Bureau, courageously responded to a fire on the 18th floor of the Unity Towers on Surf Avenue in Brooklyn.  They were overcome by smoke upon exiting the elevator and both suffered severe smoke inhalation.  Firefighters responded and the officers were removed to hospitals where both are in critical condition.  PBA President Pat Lynch joined Police Commissioner Bratton and Mayor de Blasio at the hospital and is quoted in several reports.
