Police Chief Receives No-Confidence Vote

From Times Wire Reports

New York's police union demanded that Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly resign over his comment that an officer's fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager last month appeared unjustified.

Union delegates supported a no-confidence vote in Kelly that will test the relationship between Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and New York Police Department members.

Bloomberg and Kelly responded with statements criticizing the union.

A grand jury is investigating the Jan. 24 shooting of Timothy Stansbury, 19, on the rooftop of a Brooklyn housing project.
