Police Officer, NY Post Driver Killed in Brooklyn Collision

A New York City police officer and a delivery driver for the New York Post are dead following a collision early Sunday morning in Brooklyn.

Police say the accident happened while two officers from the 62nd Precinct were responding to an emergency call at 3:45 a.m. in Bensonhurst.

Their patrol car was heading east on 75th Street when it collided with a New York Post newspaper delivery truck traveling north on 18th Avenue.

The second police officer survived the crash, but is in critical condition.

The impact of the crash was so great that emergency service unit officers had to cut the police officers from the wreckage of their vehicle.
