Officer Shot in the Bronx will Spend Holiday at Home

The undercover police officer shot and wounded in the Bronx Tuesday night will spend Thanksgiving with his family. The officer has been released from Jacobi Hospital Thursday, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the side. The shooting happened at Fteley Avenue in the Bruckner section shortly before midnight Tuesday. Police say three people tried to rob two undercover officers during a buy and bust operation. Shots were fired during the robbery, and one struck the officer. Remarkably, the officer's cell phone deflected some of the shot. One of the suspects was shot in the leg. He and the two other suspects are charged with robbery and assault.
