PAT LYNCH TELLS THE DAILY NEWS THAT HE
HAS CONFIDENCE THAT, IF THE EVIDENCE IS
PRESENTED FAIRLY TO A GRAND JURY, THE
OFFICERS INVOLVED IN THE GARNER TRAGEDY
WILL BE FOUND TO BE WORKING WITHIN
THE SCOPE OF THE LAW

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“This union has stated loudly and often that police officers deserve the same due process under law as every other American.  We are confident that, if the evidence is fairly presented to the grand jury, they will conclude that, while this was a sad and tragic event resulting from Mr. Garner’s resistance to arrest, the officers acted properly and within the scope of the law.”
