RETIREE’S BACK PAY DELAYS
The department informs the PBA that there have been unavoidable
delays in the mailing of back paychecks to retirees. The delay is
caused by the need to hand-write a certified mail, return receipt
requested form for every check and by the overwhelming number of
telephone inquiries received. The checks have been cut and are in
the payroll division office. Checks can and will be issued to retirees
who visit the Payroll Division office at One Police Plaza room 1018
with a valid retiree ID card.
