On January 28, 1980, 35-year-old Police Officer Cecil Frank Sledge was killed when he stopped Salvatore Desarno who was on parole and wanted for questioning in a robbery. Desarno shot Police Officer Sledge and then hit and dragged the Officer to his death with his vehicle. Salvatore Desarno has applied for parole. The PBA strongly supports the position that cop-killers, if they are not executed, should never be released from prison. So we urge you to print out and sign the attached petition to deny him parole and send it to New York State Board of Parole. Help us keep this cop-killer locked up for the rest of his life.
