People fuming over the senseless slaying of NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia have found an outlet to vent their anger — her dead killer’s Facebook page.
“Burn in hell,” wrote Damon Lyons on Alexander Bonds’ profile after he gunned down the 48-year-old officer in an unprovoked attack in the Bronx early Wednesday.
Police killed Bonds, 34, shortly after the shooting — but his social media page remains online.
It wasn’t long before Facebook users descended upon the page to blast him. Most commented under Bonds’ latest post from June 8, in which he wished his brother a happy birthday.
“You took a woman of color away from her 3 children just because of her occupation. How wicked,” Jamie Agnello said. “This is a cowardly and terroristic act and now cops will be even more on edge and quick to shoot thanks to your dumb ass. Enjoy hell.”
“He died of lead poisoning,” wrote user Joseph Cinquemani.
“Doesn’t New York have a sewer system he could be put in?” Tony Dankowski chimed in.
Some commenters blamed the Black Lives Matter movement for Bonds’ actions — but others showed sympathy for his actions, blaming the shooting on his alleged mental illness after Bonds’ girlfriend told cops that he was a schizophrenic off his meds.
“This is as a result of bitterness,” Ebenezer Abayama Nakuma posted. “If one is hurt and he has no one who can listen to him, it leads to mental illness….If you feel that someone is bitter, please talk to him, don’t abandon him. By talking to him you could end up saving the live of an innocent person like the late cop, Familia as well as the perpetrator [himself] Alexander Bonds because everyone life is important. May their souls rest in peace.”
Miiskum Aazheniis Stephens blamed both the legal and mental health systems for letting Bonds “slip through the cracks.”
“How did someone on parole supervision after serving hard time get his hands on a firearm to do this?” she wrote. “How did he state of mental health go unnoticed?….That poor officer shouldn’t have had to pay the price for an untreated sick man’s actions when he wasn’t getting proper help from the powers in place to help displaced people.”
Bonds used a stolen .38-caliber revolver to fatally shoot Familia in the back of the head around 12:30 a.m.Wednesday.
Two cops who heard the shot while on patrol nearby blew Bonds away when they spotted him trying to run away and he pointed the gun at them, police said.
