Police scanner captures moment NYPD officer was assassinated

By Ruth Brown

Dramatic police radio audio captures the moment a cop was fatally shot in The Bronx early Wednesday morning.

One officer calls in a report of a man spotted with a gun, then minutes later, the audio erupts with incoherent screaming.

“A cop is shot!” can be heard amidst the racket. “Shots fired! Shots fired!”

The officer then screams for a “f–king ambulance.”

Cops later report that they’ve got the suspect in custody. Shooter Alexander Bonds was shot dead at the scene.

The cop hit, 48-year-old Miosotis Familia, later died in the hospital.
