The answer is simple: it’s for your own good and the good
of those you care about. The PBA supports candidates that will
help to win important rights and benefits for New York City’s
police officers. The PBA also seeks the passage of laws that benefit
its members and their families. Free college courses, the right
to go to PERB, 9-11 disability presumption, etc. were the result
of PBA supported legislation passed in Albany. When you volunteer
your time to work for a PBA supported candidate or legislation,
you are helping yourself, your family and your fellow officers.
Every police officer should volunteer once or twice a year. It’s
easy to do and it can be fun too.
