On March 15, 1994, Police Officer Sean McDonald of the 44 Pct. was shot and killed as he arrested a suspect in the robbery of a clothing store. On March 18, 2014, a memorial Mass was celebrated in honor of Sean’s life and was attended well attended by union officials and ranking members of the department. Following the Mass there was a procession to the 44th Precinct Memorial Park where a brief ceremony was held in Officer McDonald’s memory.
