NYC PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:
“The PBA has filed an ethics complaint today with the National Academy of Arbitrators regarding Howard Edelman's conduct. It is unfortunate that they would prejudge a serious complaint against one of their members before reviewing the facts. Arbitrators who value the integrity of their profession should be outraged at Edelman's blatant disregard for the facts in evidence, the state law governing the proceeding, and his basic ethical obligation to disclose any possible conflicts of interest. Three previous arbitrators followed those same standards and awarded above-pattern raises to help move New York City police officers towards a market wage. We can only conclude that Edelman failed to do so because he was wholly compromised by the City."
