To All Delegates and Members

September 24, 2009

On September 16, 2009, a bill was signed into law that revives previously time-barred claims against the City of New York for 9/11 rescue and recovery workers suffering from an illness/injury caused by exposure to toxins or otherwise at the WTC site, the Fresh Kills Landfill, the New York City morgue or on the barges operating between Manhattan and the Fresh Kills site.

If you have a World Trade Center-related legal claim against the City for illness or injury but were previously prevented from bringing that claim because of the short statute of limitations, the claims have now been revived as long as you pursue the case within one (1) year from September 16, 2009.

Fraternally,
Patrick J. Lynch
