PBA applauds domestic violence Cops wounded in shooting

The NYPD today released body-worn camera video from the November 24, 2020 incident in which 105 Pct. members P.O. Joseph Murphy and P.O. Christopher Wells were shot and injured while helping a domestic violence victim escape her abuser.

Watch the video here.

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“This video is chilling and difficult to watch, but it makes one thing clear: Police Officers Wells and Murphy saved lives. They saved the lives of that domestic violence victim and her children, and they saved each other’s lives – all because they had the training, skill and courage of New York City police officers. For anyone questioning whether we need police officers responding to these types of situations, this video is the answer.”
