Hundreds of cops and private citizens massed outside a Bronx precinct stationhouse Saturday night to mourn the loss of NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia.
“We owe it to Officer Familia to never forget,” said Assistant Chief Larry Nikunen, Bronx borough commander.
Rows of flower bouquets from more than a dozen police precincts and officer organizations lined the sidewalk outside Familia’s 46th Precinct stationhouse.

Inspector Phillip Rivera, her commanding officer, called out the names of Familia’s three children and lauded her “patience” and “graciousness.”

Her assassin, 34-year-old Alexander Bonds, was killed in a shootout with police.
“On behalf of my family, I want to thank everyone,” said Familia’s sister Adriana Sanchez.
“She always volunteered to work as much as she could, and it was always all for her kids.”
