PBA’s call for changes to “draconian disciplinary system” are enacted by Commissioner Bratton

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“Long before he was selected, we were meeting with Bratton to discuss the damage that the NYPD’s draconian disciplinary system was inflicting on the morale of our police officers.   Even police officers who had been cleared of any wrong doing remained on modified duty which unfairly stigmatized them and stalled their careers.  Commissioner Bratton’s return of authority over minor disciplinary matters to local commanders is something the PBA encouraged and wholeheartedly supports.  It will go a long way to improving the morale of police officers.”
