PBA demands firing of OATH commissioner who abused and threatened cops

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch sent this letter Wednesday to Mayor Bill de Blasio to demand the immediate firing of Fidel Del Valle, commissioner and chief judge of the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, following a November 13 incident in which Del Valle shouted profanities at and threatened two police officers assigned to the City Hall security detail.

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“New York City police officers are verbally abused on the street every day, but it is astounding to hear that this kind of threatening, profane rant came from a New York City agency head. OATH Commissioner Fidel Del Valle clearly lacks the temperament to sit in judgment over anybody, much less a police officer who was simply trying to do her job. His conduct was disgraceful, he abused the office to which Mayor de Blasio appointed him, and he must be fired immediately.”
