As a New York City resident, I am strongly opposed to Intro 586-A, which would require the police officers who protect my community to file a report on their most basic interactions with the public.

If a police officer in my community is searching for a missing child or trying to find the right address for an emergency call, I don't want them spending up to *three minutes* filling out a form for each person they talk to. And I don’t want them spending *up to twelve minutes per form* sitting at the precinct, combing through their body-worn camera footage for any missing information, instead of answering calls for help.

I don't want police officers asking unnecessary questions about my race and gender – or, even worse, making assumptions and possibly misidentifying me.

And I don't want cases against dangerous criminals to be thrown out because district attorneys are unable to turn over millions of these unnecessary forms to defense attorneys as soon as they are created.

My local precinct is already understaffed, and 911 response times are already rising. My community is demanding more police service, not less. If Intro 586-A is vetoed by the Mayor, please vote AGAINST the veto override.
