The 28 Pct. was the scene of the annual PO Phillip Cardillo Memorial and Bike run held on April 13th.. Officer Cardillo was murdered after being summoned to a Mosque with a bogus call for help. The loss of Officer Cardillo and the shameful response of NYPD and elected officials is generally considered to be an all time low point in the history of the NYPD. Friends, family and fellow officers keep his memory alive with this annual event in his honor.
