PBA reacts to additional budget cuts

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“Not all city services are of equal importance so across the board budget cuts do not make sense. The city’s primary responsibility is to provide a safe environment where people can live in safety and business can flourish. The NYPD is already 5,000 police officers under strength and any additional cuts to staffing would put public safety and economic viability at risk. If additional budget cuts are necessary, the city should make them in the many non-emergency, non-essential services it provides.”
