Pat Lynch reacts to revocation of bail for Elija Foster-Bey in the shooting of Police Officer Ricardo Ramirez

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We are not the least bit surprised that the mutt who shot and nearly killed police officer Ricardo Ramirez had a previously hidden criminal record.  While we still believe that the act of shooting a police officer in itself should automatically deny the possibility of bail, we are grateful to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office for pursuing the records that persuaded the judge to remand this dangerous mutt into custody.  The judge and the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office have made the streets of Brooklyn a little safer for police officers and citizens they protect by keeping a dangerous thug off the streets while he waits his day in court for shooting a police officer with an illegal handgun.  Anyone who’d shoot a police officer in the hallway of a building would not think twice about shooting an unarmed civilian.”
