PRESS RELEASE

February 17, 2011

PBA President reacts to mayor's budget presentation calling for a reduction in Variable Supplement Fund (VSF) benefit

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“The VSF agreement was forged in good faith and is a legally binding agreement that the Mayor cannot change without the approval and support of the affected unions.  The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association has no intention of giving up a benefit for our retirees, future retirees and future hires that was bought and paid for with our pension funds.”
