PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:
“While it will not bring back a fine New York City police officer, the maximum sentence of 25 years to life pronounced by the court today was appropriate and will keep a very violent career criminal off our streets. We are hopeful that the Schaberger family will find some comfort in the sentence handed down today. I would also like to extend the appreciation of the 23,000 police officers represented by the NYC PBA for the outstanding and professional work of the prosecutors of the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.”
