Lynch Tells Brooklyn BP if he’s honoring Garner, he should also honor police officers who died in the line of duty

Following Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams’ announcement that at the borough’s tree lighting ceremony he would dim the lights and have a drum tap eleven times — the number of times Eric Garner said “I can’t breathe,”  PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We respectfully suggest that the Brooklyn Borough President, after he’s finished honoring the memory of Eric Garner, keep the lights dimmed and tap the drums 80 more times in memory of the police officers who have died in service to this city since 1999.”
