PBA President: Halfway enforcement of anti-drug laws make street more dangerous

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“From the point of view of us in law enforcement, any relaxation of enforcement against any kind of drug results in increased sales opportunities for dangerous drug dealers who freely use violence against their competitors.  The end result is more dangerous streets for everyone with that danger compounded by a serious shortage of police officers on patrol.  Relaxing enforcement against an illegal substance is a dangerous half measure that sends mixed signals and underscores the city’s need to put more police officers on the streets if we are going to put a halt to the increased shooting and murder trend.”
