PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:
“This miscreant sent a message through social media that was easily interpreted by any reasonable person as a call for violence against police officers. These types of calls for violence have been acted upon by the fanatical and unhinged. Ultimately, the grand jury disagreed that it was a terrorist threat and we have to respect their conclusion, however, he was found in possession of an illegal handgun and a significant amount of marijuana for which he should face charges. A Legal Aid attorney claims that a police emoji with a gun emoji pointed at it was not a threat but he might feel differently if there was a Legal Aid attorney emoji with a gun pointed at it.”
