PBA criticizes CCRB dysfunction after director's offensive comments

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We are still waiting for our elected leaders to do something, anything to rein in the dysfunctional and out-of-control CCRB. This is an agency that casually and recklessly leaks information in violation of State law, and routinely oversteps its authority to ruin police officers' careers based on mere allegations of misconduct.  When police officers are accused of the type of conduct to which Mr. Darche admitted, they don’t get promoted — their careers are totally derailed. The recent chaos at the CCRB is just one of many reasons that the agency is almost universally mistrusted by both police officers and the public”
