PBA President Says Solo Patrols in the Subway Are Dangerous

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“It has only been a little more than three months since police officer Miosotis Familia was assassinated for nothing more than wearing the uniform of the NYPD.  There has never been a time when it was more urgent for police officers to patrol in pairs particularly in the subway where it is frequently impossible to do a warrant check because of lack of cell service underground.  If management needs to expand police coverage coverage, then they should call upon the city to hire more police officers so those officers can watch each other’s backs while protecting the city and its subways.”
