PBA statement on mayoral race

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We have been in touch with a number of mayoral campaigns. We have not offered our endorsement to any candidate, nor have we made any final determination about issuing an endorsement at all. If these candidates want to make the city safer, they need to say — clearly and emphatically — that they will support New York City police officers in our public safety mission. No caveats, no futile attempts to appease anti-cop ideologues. Then, they need to lay out a very detailed and realistic plan for turning those words of support into action. That’s what cops are looking to hear from our next mayor, whoever it may be.”
