PBA comment on proposed budget cuts

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“A blanket budget cut will only deepen the NYPD’s spiraling staffing crisis. Our underpaid police officers are quitting at record rates and the NYPD is struggling to fill Academy classes. After years of underfunding, now is the time to invest in the NYPD to enable it to pay the salaries necessary to recruit and retain the police officers needed to keep our city safe.”
