PBA statement on Governor's public safety plan

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“This might be a good first step, but we won’t know unless the Governor shares the details of her plan. It will take more than these minor tweaks to fix our abysmal public safety environment, which has emboldened criminals and made it more difficult and dangerous for cops to do our jobs. Our communities are suffering because politicians have refused to listen to the voices of crime victims and the cops on the street. They should start publicly acting on what constituents and cops are saying, rather than floating trial balloons from behind closed doors and posturing to place blame elsewhere.”
